Section 1 - General

What does the term Tabletop Reprographics imply?
It means to reproduce graphic images on a multitude of substrates in various formats, styles and finishes on your kitchen, or workshop table. The concept can be extended beyond the table to many other objects, such as decorating your walls. You are only limited by your own imagination.

What sort of effects can I create?
Many of the effects that you see on commercial greeting cards and invitations today, plus your own flair. Each creation will be an individual work in it's own right. Take a look at some of the non-commercial sites posted by independent crafters, where you can acquire tips and ideas for creating and see some of the effects that they are creating. One word of advice, computer presentation cannot equal seeing the actual effect for real, or watching the magical transformation as it is created. Examples can be accessed from our links page (Click Here for Links).
Happy hunting.

Is it complicated?
The short answer is "No". Most of us have been familiar with creating some sort of graphics since childhood. Pencils, pens, crayons, paints lead the way to William Caxton and his printing press from which evolved the modern printing techniques of today, which still only produce a variation of marks that we accept as graphics. Now we can reverse the process by bringing some of the modern printing techniques to the kitchen table. Each technique is relatively simple in itself and combining them into a single creation can appear complicated. Just a combination of marks.

Is there a lot to learn?
Depends upon your creative ambitions. You have total control here. It tends to be addictively progressive, so knowledge is absorbed with enthusiasm and tends not to be quantified. It is not worth worrying about, because you can develop to your own extent in your own space and time.

Does it matter if I do not have artistic flair?
Everyone has some artistic flair. Very often, it is just not realised. Whilst dexterity has a part to play, it is not crucial. You do not have to be Michael Angelo to create some very pleasing results and you can use some modern techniques that were not available to him. You may well surprise yourself and it is not necessary to create, or draw anything original to produce an attractive artefact.

Can you suggest what I could use these products for?
The most popular use is to create hand made greetings cards. Other applications include invitations, personalised items, adding decor to wood, leather etc.

Can I sell the artefacts that I make?
Yes, if the images are reproduced by hand-stamping.
Mechanical reproduction of our images is not allowed.

If I adopted this concept, where would I sell the products and/or any artefacts that I create?
1 Non-Specific Market Sectors -
Everywhere. Just using it in the presence of others, such as friends and relatives will stimulate interest and create a knock-on effect. They will often approach you.

2 Specific Market Sectors -
Local markets such as Women's Institute, where there are some 500 such market venues around the UK. See the WI Web Site (click here) for a comprehensive listing.
Also, church bazaars, craft fairs, car boot functions, Sunday markets, school fetes. These retail outlets can be occasional, or cyclic and present you with a regular choice of low overhead selling opportunities. People attending these type of functions are usually quite happy to pay a small fee (e.g. 50p) to have a supervised "go" themselves and create their own card. It is not uncommon to have a queue awaiting their turn, which frequently results in them becoming addicted to exploring their creative instincts.

Party Plan - hold your own parties, or attend parties at third-party locations. With this product concept, you will find it relatively easy to organise these functions, because of the fascination that is generated. Take a kit and let them play - they will want one too.

Mail Order - many local organisations offer cheap co-operative Internet facilities
