JoRoCo Rubber Stamps are normally supplied with the RUBBER IMAGE and BASE components as separate entities (unmounted), which is the popular choice of the crafting fraternity. This allows you to choose your own rubber stamp construction, as illustrated below with some examples of our Peelable CLING RUBBER images.

Art stamps can also be supplied ready mounted upon request. Just indicate the image Product Code/s required and we will select a suitable base size for you, or alternatively select your own preferred base type and size. There is no service charge for mounting the images. You pay only for the product.

BASES are supplied with two options -

1 Wood BLOCK - lowest priced type - block type with side finger grooves and two flat faces (rubber images can be fixed to either, or both - often referred to as PIGGY BACK stamps).

2 Acrylic BLOCK - all of the features of the wood block, plus TRANSPARENCY. They are as clear as glass and have major advantages with stamp positioning. The most costly unit option, but with major advantages and if used with the PEELABLE Cling Rubber mounting system below, only a few are required.

Two of the wood block bases illustrated left below show stamp designs, where the image was inked and pressed on to the base prior to mounting. The impression was then gold embossed and coloured.

UNMOUNTED RUBBER STAMP IMAGES

1 - PERMANENT -
The moulded image is bonded to a 2mm thick cushion with permanent self-adhesive backing. Possible to convert to peelable later.

Peel and stick to the base. To aid mounting on to the base -
1 Lay the chosen base face up on a table
2 Peel back a section of the image backing sheet and fold over
3 Lightly place the image (adhesive face down) on the base
4 Slide the image to the desired position and press over the exposed adhesive area to lock
5 Pull away the remaining backing sheet (a small pair of manicure tweezers will help) and stick progressively as you peel

Permanent option will be supplied as standard with unspecified orders

2 - PEELABLE CLING RUBBER -
The moulded image is bonded to a 2mm thick cling rubber cushion. The under-side of this bonded assembly has a blue plastic cover sheet for transit protection, which is removed prior to use to expose the cling rubber. The peelable cling rubber backed image can be attached to transparent Acrylic bases WITHOUT adhesive - it will cling to this type of surface, making it ideal for storage in empty CD ROM Jewel cases. Protection, stacking, cataloguing and locating the images for re-use is simple.
It will also attach to the wood block bases to a lesser degree. A stronger peelable bond to wood can be obtained by coating the rubber with a film of JoRoTak peelable adhesive (supplied separately - see below) and allowing it to dry for 20 minutes. The image is then adhered to the chosen base, or to a carrier sheet for storage and re-application later. Cling Rubber will slowly cure over a period of years resulting in a gradual reduction of the Cling property. The images can continue to be used in the peelable form by using the JoRoTak peelable adhesive listed below, or simply converted to the permanent format.

Both Permanent (PCode 356) and Peelable (PCode 197) backing options are available in 6" x 6" sheets for use in backing your own images. Both have a self-adhesive (pressure sensitive) cover sheet for this purpose.

NOT required for Cling Rubber backed images used with Acrylic bases


A non-toxic PEELABLE adhesive that is applied in a thin even coat to the back of the rubber image. Allow to air dry for approx. 20 minutes at normal room temperature to afford a strong bond to the rubber and a removable tack to the exposed surface, which can be adhered to the stamp base and removed for storage. It can be cleaned and replaced periodically, as required. Extend the life by avoiding contamination of the adhesive surface by dust, grease, oil, moisture, craft clippings etc. Store on clean suitable mediums, avoiding materials such as polythene, which may sweat oil derivatives and cancel the adhesive properties. Storage - it prefers the same environmental conditions as YOU.
